Get in touch

Questions we ask before any footage moves.

Draft. Our counsel is reviewing this page, and the wording will change.

We go through these with whoever holds the film, and nothing moves until they are answered.

Ownership

A list of questions. It says nothing about the rights in any particular footage.

  • Who owns the film: the team, the athlete, a league, a school or a broadcaster?
  • Can that owner agree to the footage being used for AI training?
  • Is the film stored on a platform whose terms limit what can be done with it? Where they do, we ask for the original files.

We do not take footage through this website, and nothing anyone sends us is listed publicly.

Participant permissions

  • Is anyone under 18 on camera? If so, is there consent from a parent or guardian?
  • Who else appears or is heard: coaches, staff, members of the public?
  • Do athlete releases mention AI training? If not, what would need to change?

Faces, audio and removal requests

Before footage reaches a lab, we blur the faces of people who have not signed consent and of anyone under 18. We keep the faces of adult athletes who have signed consent.

We remove audio unless the team and the athletes on camera agree to keep it.

Anyone who appears in footage can ask us, through Get in touch, to be removed from future deliveries.

Our forms are for people 18 and over; footage of anyone under 18 comes only through a club, with a parent or guardian's consent.

Rules that apply

  • League and championship rules. In some race series the regulations reserve onboard footage from race meetings for the championship organiser.
  • Venue terms. Some circuits limit filming, and some ban helmet cameras on track days.
  • Equipment rules for worn cameras. We look for worn-camera footage in drills and individual work only.
