Stereo egocentric video

Two synchronised cameras on one wearer record overlapping views.

Left cameraRight camera

Two global-shutter cameras 109.5 mm apart on a cyclist's helmet, shown after ONME rectified them with the published calibration, on a daytime ride along campus paths. Compare objects at different distances: the railing beside the path shifts more between the two views than the building facade, and that shift is what gives depth. The bicycle and the rider are out of view; the sport shows in the motion.

Public research footage, not ONME data.

Capture facts

A stereo pair (dual-ego cam) places two synchronised cameras a small distance apart, such as beside the left and right lenses of a glasses frame.

For stereo depth estimation, ask for camera calibration data and specify the timing accuracy you need.

LabelsUnlabelled video, temporal labels (start and end times for named actions or phases), or participant and object tracks with timestamped events

People on cameraBefore footage reaches a lab, we blur the faces of people who have not signed consent and of anyone under 18. We remove audio unless the team and the athletes on camera agree to keep it.

Example labels

Unlabelled video

The two camera views alone, with no phase, event or object labels.

Temporal labels

Start and end times for the phases of the ride.

Tracks and events

Two tracks for the railings, then events with a time and, where the pair gives one, a depth.

Example labels written by ONME for this public clip. The same clip as plain video, as temporal labels, and as tracks and events. Pressing a timestamp seeks the clip.
